ALL SOLD: Seem Seeport: Custom analog mixing console
Seem Audio was a small Norwegian company making high-end analog equipment by hand, primarily for European broadcasting from the 1960s to the early 2000’s. The Seeport was their last flagship compact console, built to a very high standard: Lundahl transformers throughout, Penny & Giles long-throw faders, Wima caps, linkable FET limiters on the master, and so on. These were expensive little beasts when new. I’ve been through a good amount of beautiful small mixers and these are special (I have another one I use as my studio hub here). Mic preamps, EQs and general sound and quality are a little bit similar to a Studer 961, but they have their own thing going on. The general vibe is open, clear, and warm, with a little bit character/attitube in the EQ. Build quality is off the charts. These are starting to pop up a little more and get the credit they deserve, most notably and recently in @hainbach101 ‘s awesome rig.
This one has been cleaned, checked, and assembled here in the shop as a compact high quality analog creative weapon. Specifically: 7 premium mic/line channels and 1 premium stereo strip. The 7 mono mic/line channels are modified for direct outs, which come out the back of the console on a d-sub with a custom breakout snake. There is also a full monitor section with an external monitor input, another pair of line inputs on the master channel, everything you need in a beautiful little hub for a hybrid or pure “DAW-less” studio setup.
-7 premium mic/line input strips with direct outs, 4 aux, 2 sweepable eq bands, 2 position HPF, phase, switchable +48V phantom power
-1 premium stereo line input strip with 2 fixed EQ bands, HPF, switchable dual-mono operation, phase flip
-AB master return pair (2 more inputs)
-separate monitor section with level control and external inputs to monitor
-onboard high-quality linear power supply - checked and rebuilt as necessary
-total of 11 inputs to the summing bus
-stereo bus features Lundahl transformers and linkable FET limiters
