SOLD: Roland Jupiter-6 Polyphonic Synthesizer

CA$0.00

The Roland Jupiter-6 debuted in 1983 and very quickly became an iconic instrument, known for its deep sonic palette and huge classy character. As you may have guessed, the Jupiter-6 has 6 voices, each stacked with dual VCOs, VCAs, dial ADSR envelopes, oscillator sync, FM, and a gorgeous multi-mode VCF. The J-6 hits a real sweet-spot between the pure sound of raw vintage voltage-controlled analog circuitry, and the convenience of modern programmable technology as it also has patch memory, a one-button auto-tune, an awesome arpeggiator, chorus, and MIDI on board, as well as the ability to play bi-timbrally (split the keyboard between two different patches.)

This particular beast has been through a full service on our bench here, including a full cleaning, replacement of all of the old panel sliders and slider gaskets, and a full check of all PCBs and components, replacing failed parts as needed. We also did our favourite battery mod to this one, moving the RAM battery off of the delicate motherboard, both to save it from future leakage-damage, and make the battery easily user replaceable (lithium AAs installed). As a result of this work the whole synth looks fresh, feels great under the hands, and is rock solid functionally. Cosmetically this one isn’t a museum piece as there is some minor scuffing to the casework visible on close inspection, but as you can see from the photos it looks great and is perfect for a synth headed to a home where it will actually be played and enjoyed.
